Bygone Rose Girls Victorian Style Ruffled Dress PDF Sewing Pattern
Product Type: PDF Sewing Pattern
Skill Level: Intermediate
Size Range: 6-12M to girls size 10The Bygone Rose Dress is pure vintage romance and charm! Inspired by a lovely antique Victorian postcard I came across, this dress embraces all that is graceful and feminine. The fully lined bodice is gathered down the front center and has a wide neckline that can be embellished with a ruffle (optional) or the sewing trim of your choice (eg lace, ribbon, ric rac, etc). The bodice buttons down the back and the full, peasant style sleeves can be elasticized with either elastic casings or by shirring with elastic thread. This dress boasts two skirts, an underskirt and an overskirt, for extra fullness and twirl. The underskirt has two ruffles sewn to the bottom while the overskirt is finished with a simple folded hem. If you are looking for a simpler project, you can make this garment with one skirt only, either underskirt or overskirt. As an added bonus, there are two skirt lengths to choose from, dress or tunic length. Make an adorable little top by using the the tunic length and omitting the underskirt! A sash with a gathered waistband is sewn to the bodice to complete the look.
Note: Fabric requirement charts shown in last two pictures give amount needed in yards, assuming 42/43" wide fabric.
